Privacy Policy
This is my privacy policy. It explains what personal information brightrs.com collects, why I collect it, and what choices you have. I've written it in plain English, so you don't need a law degree to follow it.
Last updated: September 19, 2026
The short version
-
I collect only what I need
That means your name and email if you write to me or join my list, plus basic visit data like the pages you view.
-
I don't sell your data
I never sell your personal information to anyone.
-
Some cookies come from other companies
That includes analytics tools and the companies behind affiliate links.
-
You're in control
You can ask me to show, fix or delete your information at any time.
What this privacy policy covers
This privacy policy applies to brightrs.com and everything I publish on it, including my guides, reviews, contact form and email sign-up forms.
I'm Golam, the person who runs this site, and I'm responsible for your personal information here. If you have a question about it, you can reach me through the contact page. By using the site, you agree to this privacy policy. If you don't agree with it, please don't use the site.
What information I collect
Information you give me
- Contact form: your name, email address and message, plus the topic if you pick one. The form sends this to me by email.
- Email list: your email address, and your name if the form asks for it.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, your name, email address, website (if you add one) and the comment itself. Your IP address is also saved to help catch spam.
- Services: if you hire me, the project details and billing information I need to do the work and send an invoice.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, your browser shares some basic details with my website and my hosting company. That can include your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you view, the site you came from, and the date and time of your visit. I use this to keep the site running, secure and easy to use.
How I use your information
I use your information to:
- reply to your messages and requests
- send the emails you signed up for, such as my free checklist and updates
- run, protect and improve this site
- see which guides and reviews are useful to readers
- block spam and abuse
- follow the law when I have to
I don't sell your personal information, and I don't use your email address for anything other than what you signed up for.
If you're in the EU or UK, the law asks me to have a reason, called a "legal basis", for using your data. Mine are your consent (for my email list and non-essential cookies), my legitimate interest in running and securing this site, and the steps needed to answer your request or provide a service you asked for.
Cookies and similar tools
This privacy policy covers cookies too. Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. They help sites remember things about you and measure how many people visit. Here are the main kinds you might meet on this site:
| Type | What it does | Your choice |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps the site working and secure, for example when you submit a form. | These can't be switched off without breaking parts of the site. |
| Analytics | Shows me which pages people read, so I can make them better. | You can block them in your browser or through the cookie settings on this site, if shown. |
| Affiliate | Set by a company after you click one of my affiliate links, so it knows I sent you. They can last from a day to several months. | You can delete cookies in your browser. The link still works, but I may not get credit. |
You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. AllAboutCookies.org has clear instructions for most browsers. Blocking some cookies may change how parts of the site work.
If you live somewhere the law requires your consent for non-essential cookies, I'll ask before setting them.
Other companies that handle your information
I don't run everything myself. These kinds of companies help me operate the site, and they may process some of your data:
- Web hosting company: stores my website files and data.
- Email service: stores my subscriber list and sends my emails.
- Analytics and search tools: such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console, which show me how people use the site.
- Fonts and embedded content: some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers.
- Spam protection: tools that check form messages and comments for spam.
- Affiliate companies and networks: once you click through to their website, their own privacy policy applies. You can read how I earn from these links in my affiliate disclosure.
Each company has its own privacy policy, and I'd encourage you to read them. Google's privacy policy is a good example. I choose reputable providers, but I can't control what they do with data on their side.
My hosting and the tools I use may store data on servers in other countries, including countries with different privacy laws than yours. I rely on providers that use recognised safeguards when they move data across borders.
If you join my email list
I only send emails to people who ask for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can use it whenever you like. When you unsubscribe, I stop emailing you.
Email services often track whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. I may use that to see which emails are useful to readers.
How long I keep your information
I keep information only as long as I need it. In general:
- Contact messages stay until I've dealt with your request, plus a reasonable time in case you follow up.
- Email subscribers stay on my list until they unsubscribe.
- Comments stay published until you ask me to remove them.
- Records for paying clients, such as invoices, may be kept longer if the law requires it.
How I protect your information
I use a secure (HTTPS) connection, keep WordPress and its plugins updated, and choose hosting and tools with good security. Even so, no website or online service is completely secure, so I can't promise absolute safety. If a data breach ever affects you, I'll tell you as the law requires.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, and I respect them under this privacy policy. These can include the right to:
- ask what information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- ask me to delete it
- object to, or limit, how I use it
- withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing
- get a copy of your information in a format you can move elsewhere
If you live in the EU, the UK or California, these rights come from laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA. To use any of them, send me a message through the contact page. I'll reply as quickly as I can, and within the time the law requires. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for adults. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the age set by the law where you live. If you think a child has sent me their details, please let me know and I'll delete them.
Changes to this privacy policy
I may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when I add a new tool or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the change is a big one, I'll make it easy to spot.
Questions about this privacy policy
If anything here is unclear, or you'd like to use your rights, send me a message through the contact page. You can also read more about me, and about how this site earns money in my affiliate disclosure.
Thank you for trusting me with your information.
