Affiliate Disclosure
This page is my affiliate disclosure. It explains how this site earns money, and why you can still trust what I write. It takes about three minutes to read.

The short version of my affiliate disclosure
-
Some links pay me
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a commission.
-
It costs you nothing extra
You pay the same price whether you use my link or not.
-
Money doesn't decide my opinion
I recommend tools because they fit, not because they pay well.
-
I tell you when a link is an affiliate link
You'll see a note near the link or at the top of the post.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a web address with a small tracking code inside it. When you click it and later sign up or buy, the company knows the visit came from my site. As a thank-you for sending a customer their way, they pay me a commission. It can be a percentage of the sale or a flat fee.
Here's a simple example. Say I write a review of a web hosting company. You click a link in it and buy a hosting plan. The company sees that I sent you and pays me a small commission. You pay the normal price, and nothing about your plan changes.
This is the same system many blogs, newsletters and YouTube channels use. I just want to explain it clearly, so nothing is hidden.
How this site earns money
This site is free to read. It still costs me money and time to run, and affiliate commissions help cover that. Here's where my income comes from:
- Affiliate commissions from the tools and services I review, such as web hosting, funnel builders, email marketing software, SEO tools and other products for making money online.
- My own services, including WordPress web development and SEO work. You can read about them on the services page.
- Sponsored content or ads, if I ever add them. I would label those clearly, so you'd never have to guess.
What this means for you
In short, nothing changes on your side. You pay the same price whether you use my link or go straight to the company's website. Sometimes a company gives my readers a special discount or a bonus. When that happens, I'll say so.
You never have to use my links. If you'd rather visit a company directly, that's completely fine. I'd just be grateful if you used one when a review helped you, because it's the reason this site can stay free.
How affiliate links affect my reviews
This is the part that matters most, so I'll be direct. These are my rules.
-
I don't sell good reviews
A company can't pay me for a high score, a top spot or a glowing comment.
-
I don't rank by commission
When I put tools in order, I go by how well they fit different people, not by which one pays more.
-
I tell you when a tool isn't right for you
Honest downsides go into every review, even when the product has a generous affiliate program.
-
I skip products I wouldn't suggest
If I wouldn't recommend it to a friend, it doesn't go on this site.
-
I mention free access
If a company gives me a free account, trial or sample to test, I say so in the review.
I'm human, so I won't always get it right. If a review looks unfair or out of date, tell me through the contact page and I'll look into it.
How I mark affiliate links on this site
This affiliate disclosure covers every page on the site, and I try to make affiliate links easy to spot. Here's what you can expect:
- A short note near the top of posts and pages that contain affiliate links.
- A label such as "affiliate link" next to links in tables and buttons, where it fits.
- A "sponsored" tag added to affiliate links behind the scenes. It tells search engines that a link is paid, which is what Google asks for in its guidance on qualifying outbound links.
Some affiliate links may look short or pass through my own site before they reach the company. They're still affiliate links, and the same rules apply to them.
Affiliate programs I may use
I may join affiliate programs directly with companies, or through affiliate networks. The products I write about usually fall into these groups: web hosting, funnel builders, email marketing software, SEO tools, online courses and other tools for building an online income. You can see them all on the best tools page.
If I join a program that needs a special statement, I'll add it to this page.
Earnings and results disclaimer
I don't promise that you'll make money by following anything on this site. Results depend on many things: your effort, skills, time, budget, niche and a fair amount of luck. Any example I share is there to explain an idea, not to guarantee an outcome.
This is part of my affiliate disclosure, and it applies to the whole site. I'm also not a lawyer, a financial adviser or a tax professional. What I write is general information based on my own experience. Please do your own research, or speak to a qualified adviser, before making big decisions about money.
Following the rules
I follow the FTC's guidance on endorsements, which says that people who are paid to recommend a product must disclose it clearly. If you're curious, the FTC's Disclosures 101 guide explains it in plain language.
A clear affiliate disclosure is a legal expectation in many places, not just a nice gesture. Rules differ from country to country, and I do my best to follow the ones that apply to this site and to you as a reader.
Affiliate disclosure questions
Does using your link cost more?
No. The price is the same for you. The company pays my commission out of its own marketing budget.
Do I have to use your links?
No. You can go straight to any company's website. Using my link is a free way to support the site.
Is every recommendation paid?
No. Some products I mention have no affiliate program, and I recommend them anyway when they're the best fit.
Why do you have an affiliate disclosure page?
Because you deserve to know how a site earns money before you trust its advice. Being upfront also keeps me accountable.
Still have questions?
